Home Repair & Accessibility

Milestone’s Home Repair & Accessibility services provide professional home repairs and improvements to ensure that older adults and adults with disabilities are living in a safe environment. Our Home Repair & Accessibility program has a licensed contractor on staff to ensure that our repairs and modifications are expertly performed and meet building codes. We offer our Home Repair & Accessibility services throughout Kalamazoo and Calhoun counties and the surrounding areas.

NOTE: Availability of specific services may depend on the funding sources we have at the time.

Fee for Service

Milestone’s Home Repair & Accessibility services are also available for a fee to people who do not qualify for grant-funded services. We provide fee-for-service work within a 30 mile radias of Kalamazoo.

Home Repair

Our home repair services cover a wide range of repairs such as porches and decks, minor plumbing and electrical, replacing furnaces and water heaters and other critical home repairs.

Home Safety Assessments & Modifications

We perform a thorough home safety assessment to ensure our clients’ homes are safe and free from fall hazards. We provide and install safety and accessibility modifications to create safe home environment for our clients. This includes modifications such as installing smoke detectors, installing grab bars, constructing hand rails, and repairing stairs.

Accessibility Ramps

We build entry ramps on homes so that people with limited mobility can safely access their homes. Without a ramp, many people are unable to access their community and are trapped in their home in the event of an emergency.
