Volunteer Opportunities Waiting for You!

Milestone Senior Services has a very robust Volunteer Services department. We connect more than 300 people each year to volunteer opportunities in the community. We offer a wide variety of volunteer experiences and commitment levels. Milestone utilizes many volunteers to assist with our own programming as well as connecting older adults with volunteer opportunities at other organizations in the community. People can sign up to help with a one-time event, connect to an ongoing commitment, or be on-call as needed.

Below you can explore volunteer opportunities with Milestone, and learn about the RSVP program through AmeriCorps Seniors.

For more information, please contact our Volunteer Services Team at 269-382-0515.

Milestone Senior Services could not provide the vital services we do without the support of volunteers. Our programming utilizes an average of 35,000 volunteer hours per year. We have ongoing volunteer needs in the following programs:

Meals on Wheels

Deliver nutritious meals and a warm smile to older adults in the community who are not able to access sufficient nutrition.

Home Repair & Accessibility

Assist our expert Home Repair staff in building ramps or performing minor home repairs. Bring your skills or learn a new one!

Pet Support

Repackage and organize our donated and purchased supply of pet food for distribution to our clients with furry companions.

Kitchen Prep

Assist our Kalamazoo kitchen staff with a variety of food service tasks in the areas of meal assembly and service, dish washing, and more.

AmeriCorps Seniors logo

As an AmeriCorps Seniors grantee, Milestone connects volunteers who are 55 and older to volunteer opportunities throughout Calhoun and Kalamazoo counties.

Many people who are retired or have grown children are looking for ways to use their time in a meaningful way and give back to the community. Volunteers can put their skills to good use or learn a new skill.

Through the AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program, we are connected to dozens of non-profit and service organizations who are in need of volunteers, these include schools, food pantries, thrift shops, animal rescues, and much more. We can connect you to an ongoing volunteer commitment or a fun one-time event.

In addition to connecting individuals to volunteer opportunities, we also work with groups. Volunteering as a group can be a great team-building experience. We work with companies, churches, schools, and service organizations to connect them to the volunteer experience that fits their size and interests.

Thank you to the many company and group volunteers that serve at Milestone.
