Many people know about our “Meals on Wheels” program but do you know about our Congregate Meal program? Congregate Meals provide the same nutritious and delicious food that we serve our home delivered meal clients, but in a community setting instead. Our Congregate meal sites are generally located in community centers or senior housing complexes where older adults are able to gather and enjoy the company of others while having their meal. This provides the added benefit of socialization. For many older adults who live alone, isolation can be a serious factor in depression which can lead to other health disorders.
Milestone currently serves approximately 400 congregate meals daily at 17 congregate sites throughout our service area.
Congregate Meals is just one more way we empower people to thrive in their community!
