Milestone Senior Services has over 25 businesses and groups that commit to volunteering with us? Add your organization to the list today! Corporate volunteering not only benefits Milestone by helping us better serve our clients, but it also is a wonderful opportunity for team building, promoting company values, and giving back to the community.
Interested in getting your company involved with volunteering? Below are four of our best group volunteer activities.
- Deliver Meals
- The meals that go out to our clients are delivered by volunteers. Whether you have a large group who wants to get together and deliver meals or a few people, this is a flexible and fulfilling way to help our community. Many companies have a set schedule of recurring times they deliver meals, but feel free to try it out once or twice! We need “drivers” and “hoppers” in Kalamazoo & Calhoun counties.
- Help Build a Ramp
- This is a great option for when you want to get a whole group out together. Building a ramp as a group helps promote teamwork and communication, all while helping to improve someone’s quality of life. No building experience required, we have seasoned experts who will guide your group. We build ramps throughout our service area.
- Hold a Pet Food Drive
- Home Delivered Meals clients can receive pet support in addition to their own nutrition needs. Holding a pet food drive is ideal for busy teams as it is a low time commitment, and it can be a company-wide event. Just have your team members donate pet food and other pet supplies for those clients with furry friends.
- Pack Pet Food
- Want to help out the pets but looking for something a little more hands on? Get a group together to come help re-package pet food for delivery. Pet food packing is great for small groups. This task is done in our Kalamazoo office.
Whether your organization makes an ongoing commitment of filling one or two volunteer spots on a regular basis or if you bring a whole team one time, volunteering at Milestone is a great way to demonstrate your company’s commitment to giving back to the community. Volunteers are vital to the success of many of our programs which serve older adults and adults with disabilities living at home.
